Ben Xu is the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Onethird. He is a business leader and innovator, guiding the company’s mission to improve sleep through innovation.

In 2024, Ben established Onethird, recognising that quality sleep is essential for health, productivity, and human performance. With extensive expertise in business strategy, technology, and market expansion, he is driving the development of Sleep Environment™, an AI-powered solution that optimises sleep conditions through temperature regulation.

Before founding Onethird, Ben worked in some of the most complex and high-stakes industries in the world. He was an Industry Analyst for Fortescue Metals Group, Director at Northern Heavy Industries (Australia), and Marketing Director while leading stakeholder engagement at Baowu Group’s subsidiaries, working closely with leading global mining firms such as Rio Tinto, Fortescue, and Mineral Resources. In addition, Ben is the Director of Science and Technology at BDL Fawkner, where he identified breakthrough innovations and provided advisory services to major corporations, including Conch, Hengli, and CCID.

Ben is actively involved in academia and education for future generations at the University of Melbourne, where he is the head tutor for the IT Project and Change Management programme. He also teaches subjects in Enterprise Systems and Digital Business Analysis. Furthermore, Ben is a two-time recipient of the Dean’s Honours List from the university’s Faculty of Engineering and IT, showcasing his excellence in technology and business strategy.
